Empowering Small Businesses: Agent 'O' Shares Her Clarity to Profit Method

In the bustling world of entrepreneurship, where dreams are pursued with fervor but often met with challenges, Olivia Scholz emerges as a guiding light for small business owners. Affectionately known as Agent O, Olivia is on a mission to transform struggling businesses into thriving enterprises through her innovative Clarity to Profit Method.

With a career spanning over two decades, Olivia brings a wealth of experience and insight to the table. Her journey began within the heart of family entrepreneurship, where dinner conversations were peppered with insightful "shop talk." From those formative years, Olivia developed an intimate understanding of the trials and triumphs inherent in small business ownership.

I’m not here to intimidate or judge—I’m here to empower.
— Olivia Sholz, Agent 'O'

"I literally grew up in small business," Olivia shares. "My dinner table talk was about customers, vendors, and employees. I learned the value of hard work but also the joy of FREEDOM and independence in what you do for work. These are my people, and I love helping them!"

Driven by a passion for empowering others, Olivia crafted her Clarity to Profit Method in response to a startling statistic: 1 in 2 businesses fail within the first five years, not due to incompetence, but due to a lack of a profit strategy. Her method serves as a beacon of hope, offering small business owners the tools they need to not only survive but thrive in today's competitive landscape.

"At the core of my approach is a deep understanding of the challenges faced by small business owners," Olivia explains. "I've been in their shoes—I know what it's like to make payroll, to hire and fire employees, to navigate the uncertainties of entrepreneurship. That's why my method is rooted in real-world experience, not just theory."

Olivia's expertise extends across various sectors, from manufacturing to retail, providing her with a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies of business operations. However, it's her unique blend of technical prowess and compassionate guidance that sets her apart in a crowded market.

"There are a ton of coaches, consultants, and gurus out there," Olivia acknowledges. "But what sets me apart is my commitment to listening, caring, understanding, and delivering results. I'm not here to intimidate or judge—I'm here to empower."

"When independent businesses thrive, they make their communities unique, vibrant, and alive!" she asserts. "Our cities and communities need Mom and Pop business owners to THRIVE so that America stays strong."

Walking into their store, I was swept back to my childhood days of tip-toeing behind my granddaddy as he sorted hay bales, searched among his many loyal tools to find just the right hook and stopped to riffle through a few of his antiques. The smell of the mulch outside drifted sweetly through each opened door, another happy customer searching for just the right loyal tool to add to their own collection. Friendly smiles met them, a familiarity in their eyes. Surrounded by shiny metal, garden seed, and an array of DIY home supplies, I felt oddly at home.

It was a gorgeous sunny day. My hiking boots were on and ready to summit mounds of mulch, scale truck sides and kneel me safely in a ditch. Camera at my side, the growling of the loader engine quickly found my finger on the shutter.

I was in HEAVEN at Riverside Farm and Garden Supply. My love for the outdoors and our branding services were getting to combine and I couldn't have been more thrilled - especially to be working with such kind, warm people!

I excitedly moved about, crouching and climbing to photograph all the scrumptious textures and perspectives of their supplies; setting up portraits on the loader and about the farm to showcase each individual's role and where they thrive at work.

It was an energizing morning!

The hot sun glanced against my cheek, breaking through the dense overhanging pine needles. The citrus-y musk of the pine tree sap wafting through my open car window. It always feels like returning to my mountain home when I visit the Salem Law team. I could easily see why Daniel, the founder of the business and an avid outdoorsman himself, would be drawn to this location for his small business.

Pinecones crunched underneath my tires as I ascended the blacktop drive up to the Salem Law office building. Not much had changed since I was here last time taking their brand photographs. I breathed the sap and earthy smells into my lungs, closing my eyes so I could memorize them and revisit their scent later. Moduled light danced across my closed lids as a warm “Hi!” met me from across the parking lot. Smiling, I opened my eyes, greeted by Lindy and Caroline’s sunny dispositions.

”Is it okay if we do the headshots out here like last time? Daniel really liked having the trees in the background,” Lindy said as she stopped to greet me. “Oh, and is it okay if Daniel’s dog joins us for the group shot?”

My eyes lit up in excitement and I couldn’t hide my glee, “Wait, Daniel brought his dog?! AAAH! YES, PLEASE!! I’d love to meet him and have him be part of the portraits!” I was already excited about taking new headshots for Daniel and his team and getting to spend time with them. Adding his dog to the mix was the icing on top of the cake!

Re-focusing from my excited dog distraction, I surveyed the shadows in the row of pine trees behind where I wanted to take their headshots. I knew I’d be editing the tones in their photographs to compliment their brand colors and getting the right shadows was key.

As always, we had lots of laughter, fights with the wind blowing hair about, and a careful avoidance of the pokey pine cones on the ground. The heat quickly warmed us all as we swiftly moved to capture the best body language and expression for everyone - pupper included.

Sad to leave the covering pines and good company, I packed my gear back up to head to the next location. Waiving goodbye to Lindy, Caroline and Daniel - and sneaking a few last puppy pets - I headed back down the blacktop, the crunching pine cones and citrus-y musk softly drifting further away.

It’s our differences that make us better as a whole.
— Alyson, Head Photographer at Jasper & Fern

After the heartache of finding myself surrounded by negative company too often in the past, I absolutely love and am grateful for now being surrounded by women who honestly want to see each other succeed. There are no ulterior motives, no people talking behind each others' backs - just women stepping in to share their knowledge and skill for the betterment of others.

One of my favorite parts about my job is the opportunity to build community and support another small businesses' success. It's about more than creating pretty pictures. It's learning your needs, getting to see where you're going and be involved in your vision. It's stepping into the world you're passionate about and connecting with your heart.

I've always said that each person has been created with unique gifts with which they can use to impact their community. It's our differences that make us better as a whole. It's our choice to use those gifts for the betterment of those around us.
