Letting go Lanterns Play shop, the art of letting go

  • Jasper & Fern 469 West End Boulevard Winston-Salem, NC, 27101 United States (map)

Life presents challenges, big and small, and these challenges can give rise to uncomfortable emotions. When left unattended, these emotions fester inside of us, leading to body changes and illness.

Maybe your life challenge has been a death and you are grieving. Death and grief are not limited to a literal death of a loved one, it can also be a loss of a relationship (romantic or friendship), loss of a job, loss of health, etc. Letting go of someone we love or the life we once had is hard. Maybe you are transforming and you are struggling to "let go" of your old patterns and having difficulty relinquishing control and surrendering to the process. Maybe your life is really stressful and you need a ritual to let it all go and reduce stress. Maybe you have a good handle on it all, but would like a new way to let go of situations, feelings, challenges, worry, stress, anxiety, control, etc. If any of these resonated with you, then this play shop is for you.

What will you gain from this experience?

*A playful and inspiring creative experience that provokes inner exploration through guided activities that will aide you in using rituals to let go.

*Tools to help you identify situations and emotions that you are holding on to.

*A supportive community of individuals honoring the space you are in to uplift and empower you in your journey.

*Access to all the supplies you need to create your lantern.

Come spend the day with me making a lantern to engage in the ritual of letting go. We will paint paper panels for the sides of our lantern which will be assembled with wire. Inside your lantern, will be a place to hold a tea light. With your lantern, you will receive a pottery bowl, made by a dear artist friend of mine (Sue Bang Pottery), to use as the ritual of letting go.

You do not need to have any artistic experience to attend. All skill types are welcome.
